Jojo Rabbit

Dolores
Dolores Huerta bucks 1950s gender conventions by starting the country's first farm worker's union with fellow organizer Cesar Chavez. What starts out as a struggle for racial and labor justice, soon becomes a fight for gender equality within the same union she is eventually forced to leave. As she wrestles with raising 11 children, three marriages, and is nearly beaten to death by a San Francisco tactical police squad, Dolores emerges with a vision that connects her new found feminism with racial and class justice.

Terry witnesses a murder by two of Johnny's thugs, and later meets the dead man's sister and feels responsible for his death. She introduces him to Father Barry, who tries to force him to provide information for the courts that will smash the dock racketeers.

I'd probably say 'On the Waterfront.' It's [Marlon] Brando at... his all-time best. It's Elia Kazan, who is one of the all-time great directors. And it's just the perfect mix of great storytelling, social commentary and great acting. It's political and still relevant.
Those themes are still happening today. It's universal. Coming from the theater, to tell those kind of stories in film, is what's really exciting to me.
