The Great Escape

The Nazis, exasperated at the number of escapes from their prison camps by a relatively small number of Allied prisoners, relocate them to a high-security 'escape-proof' camp to sit out the remainder of the war. Undaunted, the prisoners plan one of the most ambitious escape attempts of World War II. Based on a true story.

I then thought of a new idea of a ‘war game’ that avoids combat. The first thing that came to mind was The Great Escape (1963). This is one of my favourite movies, where the way to fight is escaping. However, in the hero-dominated game market of that time, I thought no one would enjoy playing a game where they have to run away. I understood that much.

Loving Vincent

The film brings the paintings of Vincent van Gogh to life to tell his remarkable story. Every one of the 65,000 frames of the film is an oil-painting hand-painted by 125 professional oil-painters who travelled from all across the world to the Loving Vincent studios in Poland and Greece to be a part of the production. As remarkable as Vincent’s brilliant paintings are his passionate and ill-fated life and mysterious death.

There was no road or footprints. I myself stepped the ground, kept walking everyday to try to leave the path to the young people. But I almost lost my direction. Watch Fellini’s LA STRADA to calm myself.

Saw ROMA by Cuarón on Netflix. OMG this is amazing! The flaming structure throughout the movie, the layout, that long one shot from the corner of screen to the other corner, I can't figure out how they shot but was thoroughly designed. This is the real movie for the big screen.

Saw RED SPARROW on the plane. As being a fan of spy adventure novel during the Cold War, I enjoyed a lot. I may want to read the original novel as well. Charlotte Rampling( the director in SVR)’s line “The Cold War hasn’t end yet” hit me well. Ocelot was once belonged to SVR btw.

Ozu's LATE SPRING(1949).When you're exhausted, you should choose the film that touches your heartstring. I felt relieved to see Setsuko's smile. But there's this line by Ryuchishu telling his daughter."I'm already 56, reaching up to the end of life". I will be 56 in 2 months.

Watched French Anime, “J'ai perdu mon corps”. I had this special feeling inside me, it’s ephemeral, painful & beautiful. It’s something only able to express anime. The theme of HAND that connects to DS/MGS. It’s the film of phantom pain but also of the connection. Wanna buy OST.
