On the plane I saw Sam Mendes' "Empire of Light". The film is set in the early 1980s at the Empire movie theater in a seaside town suffering from recession and riots under the Thatcher administration. The film is beautifully shot by Roger Deakins.

I saw "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One" in IMAX. There were no new situations or ideas in the action itself, but the action was sharp and Tom himself "made the impossible possible," so the sense of realism was excellent!

I saw "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves" in IMAX because Sophia Lillis is in it. In fact this one surprised me! So-fxxking-funny! Great movie! I had had enough of the "sword and sorcery" stuff, but the visuals, the gimmicks, the look, it was all new!

Anyway, I watched SEARCH 2, the original title is “missing” adapting the system invented by Timur Bekmambetov. Liked the 1st one and this one is as good as the 1st. The 1st one was about the father searches for his daughter but this time the mother searches for her daughter. Greatly thought script and the repetitive plot twist. This system can be adapted in various ways still. Highly recommended.

I watched "A Man Called Otto" on the plane on the way back. I cried throughout the film. It had been a long time since I had cried so much. The film reminded me of the importance of community and "kizuna" (bonds) with neighbors and local residents.

Watched the movie "Project Wolf Hunting". I was lucky that I hadn't seen the trailer or the promotional copy prior. I thought it was a "Con-Air" x "Die-Hard" movie, but then the whole thing shifted in a crazy direction in the middle!
