Spider-Man's Utility Belt

Upon first entering the super-hero world, Peter needed extra webbing, as he could run through it pretty quickly. He created a utility belt that held extra clips of webbing, as well as Spider-Tracers that attuned to his Spider-Sense and could be used to track people. Recently, Peter has upgraded his utility belt to hold cartridges of different types of webbing, freeze capsules, new Spider-Tracers that are now wired for sound, as well as a newly upgraded Spider Signal that has a UV light...

Every good superhero never leaves home without a trusty utility belt and Spider-Man is no exception. The belt's main purpose is to hold extra cartridges of Spidey's necessary web fluid. Without it, his mobility and combat effectiveness are compromised, so bringing spares is crucial. The belt has also housed his all-important camera, enabling him to snap pictures of himself in action for an ungrateful and probably angry J. Jonah Jameson. The other main function of the utility belt is to house the Spider-Signal.

Spider-Man's Spider-Signal

A powerful light emitted from Spider-Man's belt to announce his arrival to criminals. It was also used as a light source, allowing him to see in the dark. Recently, after upgrading his Utility Belt, the Spider-Signal was able to switch into a second mode which was a UV light setting for forensic purposes. Another design was created by Ollie Osnick to call Spider-Man and then ask him if they could work together as a team. This version was a lantern.

The other main function of the utility belt is to house the Spider-Signal. Unlike the call-to-action Bat-Signal, the Spider-Signal is a light contained in Spidey's belt that projects an image of Spider-Man's mask. It's mostly used to announce his arrival or intimidate criminals, but it can be used as a flashlight when Peter finds himself having to navigate dark areas like the sewers. In Amazing Spider-Man #675, Peter updates the Spider-Signal with a UV light to scan crime scenes for forensic evidence. Despite five solo movies, the Spider-Signal hadn't made a big-screen appearance until the post-credits scene for Captain America: Civil War, which showed Peter discovering it in the web-shooters Stark had made for him.

Queens

Queens is a borough of New York City, coterminous with Queens County, in the U.S. state of New York. It is the largest borough geographically and is adjacent to the borough of Brooklyn. To its east is Nassau County. Queens also shares water borders with the boroughs of Manhattan and the Bronx. The borough of Queens is the second-largest in population, the first being Brooklyn; with an estimated population of 2,278,906 residents in 2018, approximately 47.5 percent of them foreign-born. Queens County also is the second most populous county in the U.S. state of New York, behind Brooklyn, which is coterminous with Kings County. Queens is the fourth most densely populated county among New York City's boroughs, as well as in the United States. If each of New York City's boroughs were an independent city, Queens would be the nation's fourth most populous, after Los Angeles, Chicago, and Brooklyn. Queens is one of the most ethnically diverse counties in the United States, as well as the most diverse among highly populated counties From 1683 until 1899, the County of Queens included what is now Nassau County. Queens became a borough during the consolidation of New York City in 1898. Queens has the most diversified economy of the five boroughs of New York City. It is home to John F. Kennedy International Airport and LaGuardia Airport, both among the world's busiest, which in turn makes the airspace above Queens among the busiest in the United States. Landmarks in Queens include Flushing Meadows–Corona Park; Citi Field, home to the New York Mets baseball team; the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, site of the US Open tennis tournament; Kaufman Astoria Studios; Silvercup Studios; and Aqueduct Racetrack. The borough has diverse housing, ranging from high-rise apartment buildings in the urban areas of western and central Queens, such as Ozone Park, Jackson Heights, Flushing, Astoria, and Long Island City, to somewhat more suburban neighborhoods in the eastern part of the borough, including Douglaston–Little Neck and Bayside. The Queens Night Market in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park attracts over 10,000 people nightly to sample food from over 85 countries.

Franklin K. Lane High School

Franklin K. Lane High School (FKLHS) was a public high school in New York City, New York, United States. It began as a combined junior-senior high school in 1923 and moved into its current building in 1937. In 2012, it was shut down by the City of New York "for poor performance". New schools opened on the campus and they are administered by the New York City Department of Education as H.S. 420. Today the school is the campus site for five different high schools: The Academy of Innovative Technology, The Brooklyn Lab School, Cypress Hill Prep Academy, The Urban Assembly School for Collaborative Healthcare, and Multicultural High School.

Hot dog

The hot dog (also spelled hotdog) or dog is a grilled or steamed sausage sandwich where the sausage is served in the slit of a partially sliced bun. It can also refer to the sausage itself. The sausage used is the wiener (Vienna sausage) or frankfurter (also frank). The names of these sausages also commonly refer to their assembled sandwiches. Hot dog preparation and condiments vary regionally in the US. Typical condiments include mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, relish, and cheese sauce, and common garnishes include onions, sauerkraut, jalapeños, chili, grated cheese, coleslaw, and olives. Hot dog variants include the corn dog and pigs in a blanket. The hot dog's cultural traditions include the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest and the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. These types of sausages and their sandwiches were culturally imported from Germany and became popular in the United States, where the "hot dog" became a working-class street food sold at stands and carts. The hot dog became closely associated with baseball and American culture. Although particularly connected with New York City and its cuisine, the hot dog eventually became ubiquitous throughout the US during the 20th century, and emerged as an important part of other regional cuisines, including Chicago street cuisine.

Thai cuisine

Thai cuisine (อาหารไทย, ) is the national cuisine of Thailand. Thai cooking places emphasis on lightly prepared dishes with strong aromatic components and a spicy edge. Thai chef McDang characterises Thai food as demonstrating "intricacy; attention to detail; texture; color; taste; and the use of ingredients with medicinal benefits, as well as good flavor", as well as care being given to the food's appearance, smell and context. Australian chef David Thompson, an expert on Thai food, observes that unlike many other cuisines, Thai cooking is "about the juggling of disparate elements to create a harmonious finish. Like a complex musical chord it's got to have a smooth surface but it doesn't matter what's happening underneath. Simplicity isn't the dictum here, at all." Traditional Thai cuisine loosely falls into four categories: tom (boiled dishes), yam (spicy salads), tam (pounded foods), and gaeng (curries). Deep-fries, stir-fries, and steamed dishes derive from Chinese cooking. In 2017, seven Thai dishes appeared on a list of the "World's 50 Best Foods"— an online poll of 35,000 people worldwide by CNN Travel. Thailand had more dishes on the list than any other country. They were: tom yam goong (4th), pad Thai (5th), som tam (6th), massaman curry (10th), green curry (19th), Thai fried rice (24th) and mu nam tok (36th).

May is trying to make a turkey meatloaf recipe which fails, so they go out to eat. May doesn't seem like the person to make food regardless if their nephew doesn't like it, so Peter probably likes turkey meatloaf. Since that recipe ‘was a disaster' they go to a Thai place. Since Peter accidentally exposed himself to Ned, he's been disappointed ever since, and so May says: “But you love larb? Is it too larby? Not larby enough… how many times do I have to say larb before you talk to me?” We can assume Peter also likes Thai food, especially larb.

Singapore Sling

The Singapore Sling is a gin-based sling cocktail from Singapore. This long drink was developed sometime before 1915 by Ngiam Tong Boon , a Hainanese bartender working at the Long Bar in Raffles Hotel, Singapore. It was initially called the gin sling – a sling was originally a North American drink composed of spirit and water, sweetened and flavored.

Look out! Here comes a … giant red hurricane glass full of gin. Like the web-slinger, the Singapore Sling is pretty friendly with its bright coat of Cherry Heering. That color, which disguised the cocktail as a non-alcoholic punch back in the early 20th century, helped the ladies of the Raffles Hotel sip their booze on the sly, making it the most heroic cocktail in our book. Like Tobey Maguire’s portrayal of the wall-crawler, the original 1915 Singapore Sling recipe will never be topped.

Churro

A churro is a fried-dough pastry—predominantly choux—based snack. Churros are traditional in Spain and Portugal, where they originated, as well as the Philippines and Ibero-America. They are also consumed in the Southwestern United States, France, and other areas that have received immigration from Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries. In Spain, churros can either be thin (and sometimes knotted) or long and thick, where they are known as porras in some regions. They are normally eaten for breakfast dipped in champurrado, hot chocolate, dulce de leche or café con leche. Sugar is often sprinkled on top.

Wheat cakes (Pancakes)

A pancake (or hotcake, griddlecake, or flapjack, not to be confused with oat bar flapjacks) is a flat cake, often thin and round, prepared from a starch-based batter that may contain eggs, milk and butter and cooked on a hot surface such as a griddle or frying pan, often frying with oil or butter. Archaeological evidence suggests that pancakes were probably the earliest and most widespread cereal food eaten in prehistoric societies. The pancake's shape and structure varies worldwide. In England, pancakes are often unleavened and resemble a crêpe. In North America, a leavening agent is used (typically baking powder) creating a thick fluffy pancake. A crêpe is a thin Breton pancake of French origin cooked on one or both sides in a special pan or crepe maker to achieve a lacelike network of fine bubbles. A well-known variation originating from southeast Europe is a palačinke, a thin moist pancake fried on both sides and filled with jam, cheese cream, chocolate, or ground walnuts, but many other fillings—sweet or savoury—can also be used. When potato is used as a major portion of the batter, the result is a potato pancake. Commercially prepared pancake mixes are available in some countries. When buttermilk is used in place of or in addition to milk, the pancake develops a tart flavor and becomes known as a buttermilk pancake, which is common in Scotland and the US. Buckwheat flour can be used in a pancake batter, making for a type of buckwheat pancake, a category that includes Blini, Kaletez, Ploye, and Memil-buchimgae. Pancakes may be served at any time of the day with a variety of toppings or fillings but in America they are typically considered a breakfast food. Pancakes serve a similar function to waffles. In Britain and the Commonwealth, they are associated with Shrove Tuesday, commonly known as "Pancake Day", when, historically, perishable ingredients had to be used up before the fasting period of Lent.

Wheat Cakes You might see the webslinger more frequently nowadays with a hot dog in his hand, or chomping on doughnuts as he swings around town, but there’s no food more identified with Peter Parker than his Aunt May’s wheat cakes. Heck, on the second page of Amazing Fantasy #15, she declares that they're his "favorite breakfast." Oh, and by the way: for those of us not born around the time Spider-Man first came out, wheat cakes are basically pancakes, but way grosser.

However, recently in the comics, Spiderman lost his spider-sense, and to make up for it, he took Kung Fu training, and eventually created his own unique style. When his spider-sense later returned, he now had a fighting style made up of a combination of his Kung Fu training and his original unique style.

Capoeira

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, and music. It was developed by enslaved Africans in Brazil at the beginning of the 16th century. It is known for its acrobatic and complex maneuvers, often involving hands on the ground and inverted kicks. It emphasizes flowing movements rather than fixed stances; the ginga, a rocking step, is usually the focal point of the technique. The most widely accepted origin of the word capoeira comes from the Tupi words ka'a ("forest") paũ ("round"), referring to the areas of low vegetation in the Brazilian interior where fugitive slaves would hide. A practitioner of the art is called a capoeirista . On 26 November 2014, capoeira was granted a special protected status as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.

New York Mets

The New York Mets are a Major League Baseball team based in the New York City borough of Queens. They compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the National League (NL) East division. They are one of two MLB teams based in New York City, the other being the New York Yankees of the American League (AL). One of baseball's first expansion teams, the Mets were founded in 1962 to replace New York's departed NL teams, the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Giants. The team's colors combine the Dodgers' blue and the Giants' orange. Since then, they have played in four World Series, including a dramatic run in that ended in a seven-game loss to the Oakland Athletics, a second championship in over the Boston Red Sox, a Subway Series loss against their cross-town rivals the New York Yankees in and a five-game loss to the Kansas City Royals in . The Mets qualified to play in the MLB postseason in 1988 and 2006, coming within one game of the World Series both years. After near-misses in 2007 and 2008, the team made the playoffs in 2015 for the first time in nine years, and won their first NL pennant in 15 years. The team again returned to the playoffs in 2016, this time with a wild card berth. This was the team's second back-to-back playoff appearance, the first occurring during the 1999 and 2000 seasons. At the end of the 2019 season, the team's overall win-loss record was 4448–4808, a .481 win percentage.
