Hurt

Wolverine
Супергерой
The Logan trailer song in particular — which you may have recognized as the melancholy strains of Johnny Cash's "Hurt" — set the ideal mood for this post-apocalyptic superhero movie. It was hard to imagine how any subsequent trailer could live up to that awesome first promo… until the studio released the upcoming sequel's first full-length preview.

Way Down We Go

Wolverine
Супергерой
Rather than finding another classic '70s artist or another famous country singer to underscore the violent events of this promo, they instead went in a completely different direction. The song this time is called "Way Down We Go," and it's by a group called Kaleo — a contemporary Icelandic indie-rock-slash-folk band.

Logan (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Wolverine
Супергерой
Logan (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Cliff Martinez was originally the composer, but withdrew after six months of work at the end of 2016. His replacement, Marco Beltrami had only about six weeks to produce his replacement score.

Itchin' For A Scratch

Wolverine
Супергерой
Laugh it up, because this is probably the weirdest choice on this list. But hear us out! If you take a look at the title and the lyrics, it’s about a guy who really wants to scratch and doesn’t know how to stop. Even the doctor tells him there is no cure. That’s exactly who Wolverine is! He’s a mutant, for which there is no cure, and nothing would please him more than to go out and scratch a few bad guys. OK…maybe a little more than scratch, but still.

Sound of Madness

Wolverine
Супергерой
This hit by Shinedown has an emotional message behind it, and if you listen to it from the perspective of Wolverine himself, it takes on a whole new meaning. “I created the sound of madness, wrote the book on pain…somehow I’m still here to explain.” It’s a pretty aggressive song, which certainly doesn’t seem too out-of-the-box for our anger-prone hero. Hopefully this song allows Logan to get out some of that pent-up aggression.

Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is a Season)

Wolverine
Супергерой
If you haven’t spotted the biggest recurring theme in this playlist, you certainly will now. With this song, we figured Wolverine might enjoy the simplicity of the lyrics. It really talks about taking advantage of the short time we have on this planet, and trying to make the world better. For Wolverine, that time is definitely a bit longer, but the same principle applies. “A time to be born, a time to die, a time to plant, a, time to reap, a time to kill, a time to heal, a time to laugh, a time to weep.” There’s a time and place for everything, but Wolverine sometimes struggles with that notion. Sometimes he gets caught up in his emotions and forgets to take time to think about what he’s doing.

The Cigar Song

Wolverine
Супергерой
“Well, I’m a sucker for Cuban cigars, problem is I can’t afford ‘em,” certainly sounds like a sentence that might come out of Logan’s mouth, right? We had to pay tribute to this iconic cigar smoker in some way. While it might be terrible for your health, we’ll give Wolverine a pass, since his healing factor kind of negates the damage (but seriously kids, don’t smoke).

Old Man - 2009 Remaster

Wolverine
Супергерой
You might want to get out the tissues now…this one is a tearjerker. It’s a song written from the perspective of a young man, comparing his life to an older man. He realizes that his life is really not so different, and we’re pretty certain Wolverine could relate to the young and the old character in the song. “Old man take a look at my life, I’m a lot like you were.” One of our favorite story lines from the comics is the “Old Man Logan” series, and this seems like it would be a great song to accompany that old version of Wolverine.

Touch of Grey - 2013 Remaster

Wolverine
Супергерой
Here’s one for Jean. Wolverine has had many different love interests over the years. They’ve spanned multiple comic book story lines, overlapped into the various animated series, and transcended into the film franchise as well. We decided to pay tribute to Wolverine’s complicated relationship with Jean Grey, with this song. As most of us know, Wolverine almost always gets rejected by Jean Grey in the end, so this song is a great song for Logan to listen to after getting turned down. “I will get by.”

My Generation - Mono Version

Wolverine
Супергерой
This song in particular has the lyrics, “I hope I die before I get old.” Now, Wolverine has always been cursed to live a long life where his age will slowly progress over time, but that could take a loooooong time. In Wolverine’s eyes, he’s already an old man. The sad part is that he probably would have preferred to die in battle long ago, but that wish is his curse, and so he’ll continue to protect the people he cares about.

The Healer

Wolverine
Супергерой
Seems like after a huge beat down, Wolverine needs a song to chill to while his body quickly repairs all of the damage he’s sustained in battle. His wounds heal exceptionally fast, but maybe he throws on some blues to ease the process. John Lee Hooker’s lyrics refer to the blues as a healer, all over the world, so why can’t Logan listen to some blues guitar when he wants to heal?

Wherever I May Roam

Wolverine
Супергерой
“Roamer, wanderer, nomad, vagabond…call me what you will.” It’s as if those words are straight from Wolverine’s mouth. He’s always been a bit of a rogue, even during his work with the X-Men. Logan is a stand-offish guy. He’s seen things. What most people don’t realize is that Wolverine’s gruff, lonesome personality is a product of his life. He outlives everyone he knows, can’t be killed (or at least it’s pretty hard to kill him), and he has had his heart broken numerous times. So, this song seems to fit the personality of a man who has nothing and wants nothing.
