An anchor kit-equipped 4′′ x 4′′ support pole is used to hold up the bulkier backboard. Installing a new anchor kit will make moving the basketball hoop easy if you ever need to do so. The 2.5-foot overhang makes it more difficult to crash against the pole following a driving layup and allows for more movement under the rim.
