After discovering he's not really black like the rest of his family, likable dimwit Navin Johnson runs off on a hilarious misadventure in this comedy classic that takes him from rags to riches and back to rags again. The slaphappy jerk strikes it rich, but life in the fast lane isn't all it's cracked up to be and, in the end, all that really matters to Johnson is his true love.

I'm obsessed with Steve Martin he's absolutely incredible. Some of you may not know his work or who he is, some of you've probably heard of him, but he's incredible. I would check out his work especially "The Jerk".

Just looking at all the brilliant films Carl Reiner directed that made me want to act in comedies. All of Me, The Jerk , Summer Rental. He was always so kind to me about my career. A true comedy legend that will live on forever with his incredible films.

It was Vacation, The Jerk, Caddyshack, Stripes and Fletch. Those were my five. And that was the homework—don’t watch any [Indianapolis] Colts film, this is your film study. They all came back…And they didn’t think they were that funny. I think it definitely depends on the age, but those are my classics.

It’s my dad’s favorite movie. Laughter is what symbolizes love to me because of watching The Jerk with my dad. I think that’s partially why I do comedy.
