And so it should come as little surprise that, when asked in an interview with The Washington Post what he's reading, Cook mentions a newly released biography of Kennedy, written by Boston journalist Larry Tye. "Bobby Kennedy: The Making of a Liberal Icon" has been described as "a complete portrait of a complex man" and "the definitive biography" of Kennedy; its author makes use of interviews with his widow, sister and aides, as well as previously undisclosed documents.

At an event at Apple headquarters, Cook lauded Lewis's graphic novel trilogy about the civil rights movement, "March." "It is a very unique way to present what is probably the most important story of my entire lifetime," Cook said when introducing Rep. Lewis at Apple, according to a report in Computerworld. "My hope is that everyone reads this, and I would love to see the day that it is required reading in every school."
