I think the one that has had the biggest impact on me and the one that I’ve given the most number of people has been [The Better Angels of Our Nature]. And [The Better Angels of Our Nature] is a 700-page book on death. And it’s written by a brilliant Harvard professor who talks at great length about death rates and the human condition.

This must-read book is a tour-de-force. Few people are as knowledgeable and experienced as @cdbrose in thinking about the intersection of technology and defense. He pulls it all together in this compelling, unsettling, and outstanding book

Hillbilly Elegy, one of the better memoirs I’ve read in the last decade.

BLUEPRINT by @NAChristakis is a terrific book that is optimistic about the human condition and that explores the evolutionary origins of a good society. It's a joy to read and it highlights ways to make our society better.
