Which is your favourite place, and why? 'Maui in Hawaii. The weather's beautiful all year and it's very pretty. The hotels are wonderful too, especially the Four Seasons. I'm definitely a sunshine-city person, although now I'm gearing up for four months in London with my new production. I did a play there in 2003 and had a great time, so I'm excited to come back.'

Which is the smartest hotel you've ever stayed in? 'The Dorchester in London. It's very fancy, with huge, open-plan bedrooms, but it still feels a bit like home when I check in.'
