What is your favourite city? 'That's so hard, but maybe New Orleans. My godmother lives there and has a lovely house in the French Quarter. I first went to stay with her when I was 16, and it was so decadent and kind of wacky. I fell in love with all the people I met, who seemed so eccentric; a mix of Southern and European rolled into one.'

Where have you just come back from? 'Australia. I was in Melbourne for a couple of weeks filming the new season of The Leftovers and I loved it; it's beautiful, a very sweet city.
