If I have time to see anything in the next six months, Katie Mitchell’s The Cherry Orchard at the Young Vic is on my list, just because it’s the complete opposite of what I’m doing at the moment, which is an out-and-out, full-on, uplifting musical comedy.

What was the last play you saw? Now or Later at the Royal Court a couple of weeks ago. Eddie Redmayne a good friend of mine, plays the lead and it absolutely blew me away. It was electrifying. One of the best pieces of theatre I've ever seen.

The last thing I saw was the David Hare play The Vertical Hour at the Royal Court, which was really good. I've never been to the opera; I've only seen opera on DVD.
