After it closed, investor Grady Sanders bought the name from the Chasen family and opened a new Chasen's in Beverly Hills in 1997. However, in 2000, this restaurant closed down.[9]

Oscar parties were thrown there. Alfred Hitchcock could be seen falling asleep at his favorite booth. Marilyn Monroe would sneak in after a long day of filming, dining solo, too afraid to be seen in her casual after-work slacks.
