No musical in the past 10 years (with the exception of Chicago) has had the courage of its convictions, and that's the whole problem.

I saw it a few weeks ago and thought it was well-done. the acting was great, the cinematography was beautiful, and the story was engaging. overall, I would definitely recommend it.

Rob Marshall brought back the movie musical with this absolutely stunning film. That alone should make me love it but as a bonus, I had just gotten my wisdom teeth out and was on a fair few pain killers when I saw it. On Codeine, "Cell Block Tango" was a life-altering experience.
