"A significant vintage for Hill of Grace, as the last 2015 red to leave the Henschke cellar, and a wine that delivers on every ounce of its promise and then some ... A collector’s dream. 100 points, Nick Stock, JamesSuckling.com.Deriving from Australia’s most prolific wine-making region, Eden Valley in Southern Australia, Hill of Grace is described as ‘one of the most evocative phrases in the world of wine’. The site itself is only 4 hectares made up of single-vineyard Shiraz grapes and it is situated at the historic village of Parrot Hill.Winemaking within the family can be traced back to the 1840s, however, a prominent moment in the estate’s history was in 1958, when Cyril Henschke created the first Hill of Grace from Shiraz vines. It was the incredible quality and the charm of the name that captured the imagination of consumers.Henschke has been producing iconic wines for years and credits its expertise to the wisdom and knowledge that has been passed through generations. Additionally, biodynamic principles have been integrated into the vineyard, such as replacing inorganic fertilisers with natural compost from the cows and by planting native plants which attract insects in order to control pests and disease. A huge influence on the vines is the moon, with the Hill of Grace vineyard being picked before the harvest moon of Easter. The 2015 vintage has been described as ‘the vintage graced by the luminous moon’.
