I had the great pleasure of interviewing Patti Smith recently at the Tribeca Film Festival. If you have any doubts that the punk pioneer is also one of the greatest living American poets, this book will put them to rest.

Just Kids, by Patti Smith. I think she’s a great writer, and living in New York too, the way she describes the city at that time is so romantic. It always inspires me and makes me so happy that I live here.

I read “Just Kids,” Patti Smith’s book, a few years ago and it really dissected him as an artist. It was such an exciting time to read about — Andy Warhol, the Chelsea Hotel.

I read Just Kids right at the start of the pandemic when I just moved to London, and it made me so sick for New York.
