Retreat from Moscow
Reading David Stahel's recent (2019) book "Retreat from Moscow" about the 1941-42 Eastern Front winter campaign. The usual stunning facts. On Dec 6th 1941 temps at Army Group Center's location reach -50F. Coldest I ever experienced was -22F. At -22 everything totally froze up.

Inside the Kremlin's Cold War
Yes, his book had things in it that others left out. Great stuff!

The First World War in Colour
That looks great (at least based on the concept and the book cover!). Can’t wait till it’s released.

Storm of Steel
Storm of Steel may be 1 of the best books from the soldier perspective ever written (though Judger’s far from normal!)

With the Old Breed
That’s a great book (and he was a hell of an interesting human being).

The Wages of Destruction
BYW: This Tooze book is a magnificent deep dive into the Nazi economic situation and ideas (if you like that stuff,or if you've read a ton of WW2 stuff but neglected this aspect of the conflict). Every WW2 buff should try to get through it. Tooze is fantastic.

From Cyrus to Alexander
It’s a huge hardcover book though (a great anchor in my library).

Blitzed
Yeah, yeah. I have the book. Wish he’d written it before I did that show. I could have used the material he presented.

A World Undone
He's a bit like me (in that he's not a historian) but I think he did a great job with that book. Well worth reading.

Poilu
It’s a GREAT book. It’s worth picking up for sure. It’s truly horrifying though, so be forewarned.

Aftermath: The Remnants of War
The first chapter in Donovan Webster’s book “Aftermath” deals with this shell cleanup effort better than anyone I’ve read.
