According to a common belief, if somebody dies on Easter, they ascend to Heaven... The place is a house, known by locals as "The Heart of Moscow", now condemned to a demolition. Pechatnikoff Alley still winds down to Trubnaya Street, but this house will no longer be there.

The supermarket however does not exist and is not meant to. The advertising campaign includes radio and television ads, posters, flyers with photos of fake Czech Dream products, a promotional song, an internet site, and ads in newspapers and magazines. The documentary project The Term was conceived in May 2012. When the directing trio commenced mapping the Russian sociopolitical landscape, Vladimir Putin had just settled into the Kremlin for his third term. The original experimental format of “documentary bulletins,” which were published daily online, allowed for wide-ranging content; in the feature film version, however, the filmmakers focused solely on the members of various opposition groups. Nevertheless, the work’s neutral position remains and viewers have to interpret the objectively presented situations for themselves. The main characteristics of this strongly authentic movie include close contact with the protagonists, precise editing, and an effectively controlled release of information.

Pivovarov's documentary is about the story of the betrayal of the prominent Soviet general and the soldiers of his army, who fought heroically, but were declared traitors. Vlasov had a reputation of Stalin's favorite child. In 1942, the Big Boss instructed Vlasov to a new, important mission. No one could have predicted that, very soon, the general's name would be as nominal as the name of Judas.

The country is exchanging old Soviet passports for new Russian passports. A provincial travel photographer travels to remote Siberian villages and takes rural residents for passport photographs in 35x45 mm format. Due to the fact that a large number of people are becoming his clients, thanks to close observations of everyday rural life, the film turns into a complex poetic canvas, telling about the attitude of people living in the Russian outback at the junction of two cultures - Soviet and modern.

A drunk couple spend their summer-holiday at sea. Their life is not everything they hoped for, and abuse is part of their relationship. At sea they dream about love and understanding, and we observe their fellow countrymen spending their holidays on the same beach. Tragedy, comedy, love, hate, sex : it is all there.

The action takes place against the backdrop of the meager life of a decaying Russian village, where several women and an elderly alcoholic man remain. Two old women live here, the youngest of whom, Praskovya, devoted her whole life to her older sister Maria, who stopped growing in her early childhood. The only young woman in the village is expecting a child: everyone believes that from an angel.

In the center of the story is the life of the indigenous people of the village Bakhtia at the river Yenisei in the Siberian Taiga. The camera follows the protagonists in the village over a period of a year. The natives, whose daily routines have barely changed over the last centuries, keep living their lives according to their own cultural traditions.

The film tells about the Russian North - the territory of unique wooden architecture and one of the few places in the country where a Russian person can realize the origins of his culture and spiritual development. It was here that people were found who were ready to revive the traditional rural way of life in spite of globalization and the state policy of urbanization.

Faced with the relentless demise of the factory they work at, Mikhail, Andrey, Nina, Vladimir, Nadia and Luda – bosses, foremen, engineers and workers at the giant Moscow automobile plant ZIL – cling to their established routines and professional pride to stay upright in a world which is crumbling around them. When an order comes in to produce three of the factory’s legendary hand-made limousines, once the centerpiece of Soviet military parades on Moscow’s Red Square, Mikhail’s team of hand-picked specialists throws itself at the opportunity to show what they are worth.

A provincial Russian family killed off by suicide, murder and manslaughter and a boy who asks about guilt and forgiveness in the midst of all this squalor. Shockingly great.
